+++DetEcTive+++ Report 1 Apr 2011 09:08

Morning Maz - not a good start to the day, is it? How on earth can a garage write off a car in their care? I hope they give him something else as a replacement free of charge, otherwise as a family you are Stuffed. Insurance companies (if he has comprehensive) never pay out what it could have fetched on the open market.

Where's Her Maj? Hope everything is OK. Plans are we're out for the day, possibly to visit Kipling's family home. No, not the baker's, the writer's! Supposed to be breezy but up to 18c. Goody, goody.

YG Report 1 Apr 2011 17:18

Evening everyone. Oooh a dripping stop cock. Does it need a fireman lol!!

Off out tonight to sons for early Mother's Day treat, I think! As is the norm with my family, always the Friday before lol!!

Think I am going to book three days holiday between Easter and the Royal Wedding. It will give me a nice long break without using many days of my leave (crafty or what!). My lead admin manager is off at the same time, but I think she will allow me to take it. I am more than ready!

Are we still on for 28th May, btw??

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 1 Apr 2011 18:55

Evening all - yes 28th May is still OK for me as long as Maz hasn't had a change of heart. We'll have to start looking at train times.

Yes, we did go out. But ...... things didn't go quite as planned. Yours truly forget to check opening days. You've guessed it. It was closed.

Sooo we hacked across country to somewhere else, which was a fair distance but OK. The main trouble came trying to get home, with OH wanting to avoid Friday evening motorway madness. Just as a weed is a flower growing in the wrong place, we weren't exactly lost, just not were we wanted to be!

One advantage was that we saw a lot of off the beaten track Kent, E Sussex, W Sussex, E Sussex, Kent, E Sussex and Kent before we got home!

Tomorrows task - make a dog house for the garden, big enough for a female human, and go and buy a SatNav.

NB OH says it sould have been about 120 miles in total, but ended up at 200.

AuntySherlock Report 1 Apr 2011 21:39

Morning all. I am here. Spent yesterday in a training and development conference learning about how to be resilient and not pressured in work and life. I need to tell you that by the end of a verrrrrrrrrrrrrry long day I was so resilient I was asleep. I need to stop going to these seminars. At my time in life if I haven't learned the skills I need to survive at work and elsewhere there really is not much hope. Spent the whole day thinking about what I should have been doing and worry about how much time I was wasting.

I have two things to do today. First is a long overdue visit to the hairdresser, after which I should be beautiful (quiet you motely lot). Then I am going to clean the spare room - walls, windows, curtains, etc etc. I figured I need a day of activity after yesterday's slacking.

It is quiet again here. OH and Spot have just gone for their walk. OH has taught Spot to bark when he wants something. I know - I can't believe it. We now have a "conversation" between them with Spot woofing and howling and warbling away and OH saying, "just wait a minute, I'm nearly ready, it's too dark to go yet, let me finish my breakfast first, go drink your milk". Same happens when Spot wants his tea, or a brush, or just wants to talk. Don't ever believe you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Goodness knows what the neighbours must think.

Weather is on the cool side with fairly clear skies. We should be in the middle twenties by the end of the week. Daylight saving finishes tomorrow, hip hooray!! Do you lot get a holiday for the royal wedding. I suppose that is about as peculiar as us having a holiday for horse races once a year.

Sat Nav's are excellent once you learn to obey what the "voice" tells you to do and not argue. I have learned to travel from point A to point B via a route I would not have dreamed of taking. Just be careful of how you set it up, for example, shortest distance, or fastest travel, and what warning noises you ask it to make. It is also handy for leadfoots as it will warn when you are over the speed limit!!!

Well must away to have a look at what is going on in the cyberspace world. Will talk again later.

Morning Auntie, a talking dog now there's a novelty Spot could make you famous LOL. I talk to the cats but they never give me a sensible answer , just a snooty look !. Weather here was lovely and bright today but a bit windy. It dried the washing a treat thank goodness.
I hate sat navs I just want to swear at them when they speak to me in that patronising voice LOL.

Off back up my tree now so I will look in a little later
