Our cat's deaf, so he isn't bothered by all the noise.

Morning Everyone - you sound more positive today Maz - well done. I doubt if you are charging A anything like a commercial rent...that would be a shock for him! As you have a spare room, have you considered taking in a lodger, perhaps one of his friends or someone through Church??? It may not be the right thing for everyone, but worth consideration.

Now, what to do today - wash walls or sweep leaves? The ones at the front end up in next doors garden if I leave them long enough. He didn't used to mind when I was working, but last year he grumbled. That is life. lol

Booooooooooo, just flying though quick for now as I have dinner on the go. Catch you all later I hope.

I stayed in bed this morning. Am getting lazy, me thinks! But then I made up for it by tackling the ironing and cooked two shepherds pies, one for today and one in the freezer!! I took note, DET!!!

Just waiting for one to heat up and am going to tuck into a plateful!

Pleased to hear you are sounding a bit brighter Maz. Join my club for Christmas. I am buying for son, dil and gds, but noone else and have decided to stay at home on C Day, even if my friend invites me. I will be with the gds on boxing day and that is enough for me this year.

Edit: Paulinel the cat returned after the fireworks had all finished. Goodness knows why he shot out in the first place! He was safer indoors, but he obviously found somewhere because he wasn't cold when he came in. He was lucky that I checked just before going to bed!

I have had a lovely time going to the bottom of my freezer Andrew has got the ice off for me and i have listed the items to shop and make menus .I had thought about a lodger I am also going to see how i can pick clients up with direct payments as that is my kind of thing to do
froggy and tadpole have just gone so i am now doing some chores
And i am going to the doctor and tell him as i know i will struggle to get a job full time

Evening all, glad I am not the only one cutting back on Xmas this year. All the kids will get the usual amount but adults will be pruned severly. I am also not doing all the dinners teas etc I can't cope with it anymore,let them invite us instaed.

You do right LG!! I think we've all spent plenty of years looking after them!!

I ahve done 39 years of 3 day celebrations the only year I haven't is last year when we had the babies seriously ill . Do we get invites from anyone but H. No never !!

You well deserve a rest this year then LG! Let them invite you for a change or go without!!

Exactly, H and J are doing Xmas day and will wait and see if we get any other invites, which I doubt so could be a peaceful holiday LOL

Let's hope so. I think you could do with getting your feet up. No repeats of last Christmas, for sure.

I've been watching the last episode of Downton Abbey. Am going to miss that series.

Off to bed now, back to the grind on early shift tomorrow.

Evening - well my evening of 'catch up TV' is almost over. We've been discussing presents as well as we share lists around the family. Everything so far is less than £15, which isn't too bad.

The walls in here got washed today - the leaves can wait until after the anticipated gales are over; more of them will come down then anyway!

Perhaps if LG tells the offspring you aren't 'doing' a family Xmas, one of the others might step up and take on the mantle of Alpha Female!!!

I don't believe in miracles DET. H is the only one that makes an effort.

Oh, and can you tell him please that the car had lost 23% of its battery over night...OH thinks its approx the equivalent to a bulb, but the boot one wasn't on. Used it to drive to the shops for a few bits and had to go down the motorway for 2 exits and back, just to make sure it charged. 12 miles round trip instead of 3 - lol We'll see if it starts tomorrow. OH has all sorts of electronic metres.....it's what his apprenticeship was in.

DET OH says check the charge while the engine is running . Says could be central locking or alarm draining it

I'll let him know in the morning. He is going to use to go to work in the village - mobile fully charged and instructions have been issued as to the where abouts of the jump leads - lol
