That's good thinking LG!!

I wouldn't be fit for much if I drank more than a couple of glasses (not that I'm fit for much anyway lol)

I'm really hacked off with the tv. It has been dreadful.

TV. Bah Humbug LOL. I have been doing a lot of tree research and skitting on and off here of course. Nothing worth watching for me so I have also read 2 of my new Xmaspresent books and browsed through part of another one about lost london buildings. That one looks good as it is full of old photos.

I was looking at some of Donny in town this week. I could read them for ever, and it is fascinating looking at the photos of streets and shops that are now long gone. Some of them I remember and I yearn for the old days when I see them. The town centre now is ruined, with mostly banks and pubs.

It is awful isn't it. I visited Lincoln a little while back and the city centre has changed so much I hardly recognised it. I used to visit a lot as a child as that is where my maternal Grandad was born and lived all his life

Have you seen the news and the price of petrol. I don't do huge mileage in mine, but I am still going to have to try and cut down.

I've noticed how much items are going up at the supermarket too. I dread to think what we are going to have to put up with this year! I think I need to hibernate!

LaGooner Report 1 Jan 2011 23:05

Me too!! My car does not cost too much to run but OH's is another matter. The price has shot up at our local S*******ys we noticed earlier on. Some economising is called for in this household I think. Still come Monday I will be eating a lot less, Yidarmylass and I are starting our new diet regime.

YG

YG Report 1 Jan 2011 23:16

I need to diet too but |I haven't got a lot of will power, particularly when it's cold!

You need to watch that programme next week with the 70 stone man. It will make all of us look like nymphs!!

Right I'm off to bed now. Sleep well LG. Hope your cold is better tomorrow. x

Hello Elizabeth, I would like to wish you and your family a peaceful and Happy New Year. Also hoping you stay free of these winter bugs that are about. Trying not to sniffle near the screen and sneeze on you LOL. x

Morning all my other subjects LOL. Just trying to summon up some energy to do some jobs about the house.

YG Report 2 Jan 2011 10:22

Oh that's ok then!!

I have actually got round to starting up my tree again and have just paid for a few credits to get me moving on one brick wall!

I am really stuck with it. I have a rellie who was born in Donny and emigrated to Australia. I have an Aussie record that says married 1884 Yorkshire Reg. Victoria Ref 2349, but on IGI South Pacific records states married in Poplar, London on 29 Feb 1891. Any ideas?

Mooorrrrnnniinnnggg aaallllll !

Getting chillier in the room where the PC is as the brickwork looses it's heat. I might go cadging around the neighbours for a small electric fire or try to find somewhere open to buy one. At least we have an emersion heater for hot water.

Still waiting for the Christmas Crockery to be put away but we'll keep the decorations up until 6 Jan. We're still on left overs, so any diet will have to wait until they are finished. I haven't dared get on the scales but the tyre around the midriff has got bigger!

Hope your PC/interent problems get sorted permantly EOS - I get withdrawal symptoms when its not working properly.

YG - who was supposed to have married who in Poplar? Have you looked at freebmd? Also some of the Poplar PR are on Ancestry so LG or I can look for them for you. The 'Ask the Nutters' thread is still lurking around.

Put the problem on there and not only can we have a look, but other members can have a go.

Hi all, just a flying visit - got loads to do.

*places plastic bag over cyber hatch to stop LG's germs getting through*

Hope you bought lots of woollies in the sales DET, you'll need them to keep warm.

If I get the chance to get back on here later, I'll have a look at the Ask The Nutters thread. Not that I'm any good at searching but I might get lucky.
