AuntySherlock Report 21 Apr 2011 22:14

Seen the ads for Long Lost Family. Don't think we have it here yet.

My convict was sentenced at Middlesex Gaol Delivery. That is the London area isn't it? And it sounds like he was brought there from elsewhere.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I had forgotten about a couple of them so I have some serious searching to do.

Today is Good Friday. I wish each and every one of you and yours the peace of Easter. We have a five day break this year because Anzac Day falls on Easter Monday so we have another holiday on Tuesday. And they've managed to fit it into the school holidays.

Some shops will be open on Saturday however as many people go away over Easter the shops were very crowded yesterday.

This morning I have hot cross buns for breakfast. My Easter treat. I refuse to eat them before today, that way it is special. Dribble, dribble, drool.

On Monday OH and I will be participating in the Anzac Day parade. He will be marching and I will drive the little green truck with some of the ex servicemen who can no longer walk the distance.

Easy cleaning task today. I can sit on my bottom and do this one. Cleaning and culling the filing cabinet. No, not the family history one, the four drawer one which contains all our paperwork, bank statements, tax, accounts paid, utilities accounts etc etc. About 30 years worth in some cases. I am going to be ruthless, firm and meticulous. I will only keep the last seven years. Who said I was a bower bird!!! Quiet!

Morning all - where's the stick of rock then? Hope you had a good time. Sea fret - now that's a phrase I haven't heard for a while - lol. Enjoy the family visit - hope the bathroom is now usable.

PC decided to sort out her paper work yesterday.........and thought she'd broken the shredder through over use! It was OK once it had cooled down. I know we ought to keep 7 years of financial paper work, but with the exception of tax papers, we tend to limit it to 3. Dread to think how many trees AS is having to get rid of!

Save an egg for me LG - thought we couldn't have those until Sunday, not that we expect to give or receive any. Hot Cross Buns for lunch for us. Eldest suggested having them with melted cheese!?!?

My fh email account sent out spam mails over night - I've changed my password, but if anyone received something from me, I apologise.

Hi all gather round I have a question.

First of all, no this isn't the question, my filing cabinet is tidy. I think I have thrown out up to nine years of old paperwork. No DET it does not include any fh stuff. I actually found some which had been mixed up so that is now back in its right place. No easter eggs for me. Too much chocolate last week.

Whilst I tidied the paperworkI watched TV. We sat through a Goodies marathon and laughed ourselves silly. My all time favourite episode is "The Goodies, Almost Live" It's the episode which contains all the songs. If he wasn't a Goodie Bill Oddie could have made it as a solo artist.

Whoops, off on a tangent again. My question. Hmmm. Not sure how to handle this one. I messaged someone on Ancestry who has a tree. It is a very, very very, large tree and in it are some of the people I am researching. Despite the size of the tree I have branches which this person does not have. I outlined my info briefly and asked if the tree owner would like to swap details. In reply to my offer I received back an email address. Nothing else. No how are you yes I would like to I think that would be great. Nothing.

I have had a few goes at sending another message but keep hesitating over the content. WaddareckonIshoulddoaboutit???!!

Off to look for a convict. Now that I can handle.

I suppose you could try just sending a little bit of info and wait to see if she sends you anything in return............ like a thank you!

I've already had my hot cross buns and a chocolate egg, but I'm trying not to eat any more chocolate today.

Maz, that noise you could hear was LG singing, I admit it did sound like seagulls though.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 22 Apr 2011 14:35

Oops - is 'save a tree' a UK expression? It refers to the number of trees which have had to be cut down to make paper pulp, the papers then ending up back in the bin - lol Wouldn't have thought for a moment you would be chucking FH stuff!

As for the huge fh tree person - can you work out how close their home person is your possible branch? Suppose it's worth a quick line, but just give the basics. I'm always a bit suspicious of extremely large trees. They may be sourced as honestly as possible, but I bet they don't have all bmd etc. So I'd go with Pauline's suggestion.

Collected some pots from Freecycle this morning - off to re-pot more tomatoes.

AuntySherlock Report 22 Apr 2011 22:09

Hey do I have an advantage or do I have an advantage. I too will be up early at Nut Lodge on Sunday morning ready for the Easter Egg hunt.

Think about it!!!

Ah ha!! I see the penny has dropped. My Easter Sunday is before your Easter Sunday.

I will make certain I do not leave any rubbish around, red and white or otherwise.

Whoo hooo off to find the biggest basket I can carry.

I'll go back and look at the tree and then query the sender's method of communication.

LaGooner Report 22 Apr 2011 22:21

AuntySherlock Report 22 Apr 2011 22:55

Looked at tree and can not find a connection. The info which is there could have been sourced from available death records. Going to look at a couple of other trees and see if they have the same data.

Cheating!! Who me?? Never! I'm a good girl.

Catapult at the ready. Anti mine device connected and switched on. Warm blanket and ugg boots packed.

Its not that cold Auntie!! Predicted 27c in London in the morning, although it could be 'cooler' on Sunday - lol They've even got a smog alert for London. Actually, its a bit worrying....despite the cold and snow, it has been a v dry winter, and now a hot spring - what ever next? One of my water butts is already empty. Hate to say it, but we really do need the rain.

And leave some of those eggs for us. You won't fit into the landrover/jeep otherwise on Monday, lol
