Oh brilliant........... we've got Aunty back, great to have you back Aunty, you've been a big miss.

And now that we know how good you are at renovation work...... you can have the job of doing up the lodge. We will help you of course, I'll make a cuppa every hour.

Going to have a look at that site now.

Edit: I think Mr June needs a few good dinners!

I hadn't noticed that DET, I had to go back and have another look.

YG Report 25 Mar 2011 18:10

Maz, are you ever anything but busy lol!! I thought I didn't do bad, but you beat me!!

It's turned cooler today, and looks like it will be misty tonight.

Has anyone else had a message from GR when they logged on saying that they are having problems contacting them with their e-mail address and asking them to confirm it? I haven't had problems receiving e-mails from elsewhere and the address was fine.

Thats a new one YG - hope it isn't a scam. I'll PM you so you can see if it the notification goes to your email address.

Had a lovely day. Went out to a country pub in the back of beyond for lunch, and sat outside with the coffee. Spring has sprung, although it is a pity it si going to go back into hibernation again.

If you need to get the wheelie bin round the front Maz, best to do it before the scaffolding goes up. It's a right pain trying to move it through the legs!

Hello Elizabeth

It's good to hear that you are feeling better. It's amazing what hungry tummies can do, isn't it!! Pleased you had the help that you needed.

AuntySherlock Report 25 Mar 2011 22:18

Morning all or goodnight. The word "renovation" sends a chill down my spine. However it is completed and after wandering aimlessly around the house for a week I've now started spring cleaning my house. Yes I do know it is autumn over here but this will probably take until spring.

It is amazing how grotty an abode become when one does not give it the attention the grot requires. OH became very agitated when I explained that his level of clean did not exactly match mine. He has done a wonderful job of keeping the dwelling presentable while I have been otherwise engaged. It's just that ......well, you know what I mean.

So this morning it's wardrobes and into the charity bin with an assortment of shoes, handbags, toiletries, knickknacks and clothing from a bygone era. Oh yes, I understand, as soon as I chuck it, it will be fashionable again.

Glad you liked the calendar. I thought they were a wonderful advertisement for Australian essential services!!

Because OH is temporarily away Aunty took Spot for his morning walk. It is ages since we walked together and I don't think he was too pleased. Aunty forgot the treats, took the wrong lead and broke the heel of her sneaker so when she walked along it made a scrape/click, scrape/click, scrape/click noise. Think Spot will be pleased when OH returns tomorrow arvo.

Oh well back to the wardrobes.

LaGooner Report 25 Mar 2011 23:33

Morning Evening Aunty, you are doing the job that I desperately need to do. Just a matter of finding the time and prising treasured goods away from OH LOL.

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 26 Mar 2011 03:31

Oh I do understand the treasured goods. It is also called hoarding and junk accumulation. I try to put all the unwanted treasures into bags and throw the bags into the shed. Then when it come time for the shed to be cleaned out, providing the items have not been missed or requested, those bags are hidden under the other junk as it makes its merry way to the dump.

Don't know what it is about blokes that gives them the urge to salvage and store useless stuff.

I'm off to footy this evening. First match of the season. Fingers crossed that the team makes a better start than last year!!

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 26 Mar 2011 06:32

morning all as I begin ada of packing clearing washing and moving the junk from one area to another ,(treasured items that one day may be needed ) It is early but i need to get the washing out of the way andrew cleared his room out last night so now all my lonely socks will have found there mates from the Jungle on his floor lol

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 26 Mar 2011 08:42

Morning all - Ah, the dreaded treasure sorting! Not sure who is the worst out of the two of us - I tend to hang on to clothes in case I'll fit into them again one day - either too big or too small. OH collects plugs from redundant electrical appliances!

Pity the offspring when its time to clear his garage cum workshop, with its assorted pieces of metal and scraps of timber. We still have the offspring's silver cross pushchair stored there..... it is very dated now but 'too good' to go down the dump. Charity shops won't take nursery equipment cos of H&S.

And let's not mention the loft. Does anyone else keep boxes that equipment was bought in, just in case they break and have to be returned?

Hope the footie team have improved after their summer rest.

Pauline $(*-*)$

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 26 Mar 2011 09:09

DET, I keep those boxes till the one year guarantee runs out. Well, that's the idea........ but then I forget about them!

My wardrobe is bursting at the seams with clothes that I'll get back into one day!!

I pulled everything out of my husband's wardrobe yesterday and I didn't even recognize some of the clothes. He never throws anything away, I think he's kept everything but his school uniform.

Edit: forgot about the plugs, we have a large box full of redundant plugs, thought everybody had one of those.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 26 Mar 2011 09:14

If you've managed to get rid of some of his clothes, it makes more room for yours, LOL

edit - re the loft. We started to clear it a few yeas ago with the intention of re-boarding it. Then for some reason or other, we had to put 'wanted' things back up again. And that was the end of that!
