Morning all - hope the joints ease up later - the trundling around retail parks couldn't have helped. Hope A thinks it was worth it!

Well done on your bargain purchase YG. Any news if your kitchen is going to be revamped, or not? Nothing to stop you slapping paint around elsewhere if thats what you fancy.

Spent most of yesterday afternoon sitting with OH to watch the rubgy. France Italy game was good viewing, but the other one didn't have the same spark. England/Scotland today.

Morning Nut Lodgers! Note that Her Maj is still missing!! I'm not saying a word about the footie yesterday, except to say >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Whoopppeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man U through!!!!!

I think the kitchen will still be done DET and the central heating. Will just have to wait and see for the rest, so am not wasting money now. We are almost down to counting months, rather than years, so it's not so bad!

Maz, hope you found something suitable for A! Agree with you about the weather! It's mild, but wet with constant fine rain, so no gardening outside today.

Son and dil filled my Christmas stocking with a variety of seed packets! All salad stuff and carrots, If I grown it all I will need a market garden stall at the gate to sell it!! Tha't because I tried growing potatoes and tomatoes last year! I planted some tomatoes, beetroot and carrots last week and they are already through, so will keep planting in succession I think to try and have a constant supply! Goodness knows where I'm going to put all the pots in the garden!!

Morning, I was away looking after littlies last night as H had to be taken to the hospital with a rather nasty bug she picked up from the care home. She is a bit better now and they sent her home after tests.

Footie !!!!! well that just finished my day well LOL. Ah but hey ho I still love them.

I need some new bedding too YG . Mine is getting rather sorry for itself now but I am hanging on in case I decide to change the colour in the bedroom .

I have just got all my seeds in too, just need to start tidying the garden as it seems on all the days I get free it rains LOL

Sorry to hear that H is unwell - fingers crossed she doesn't pass it on to any of the family. Is J still around to help during the day?

I planted some toms and runner beans up last weekend, left overs from last year which were kept in the fridge. They are now on a bedroom window cill. There are some seed potatoes in the light on another one, except I don't know when to plant them! OH was watching River Cottage, or what ever it is called yesterday, and got quite interested at the idea of growing veg. Pity we don't have a big garden, and what we have is tree shaded and facing north

LaGooner Report 13 Mar 2011 10:20

Yes J is still about during the day thank goodness. I will call them in a little while to see how she is progressing. Have you thought of growing tatties in bags. I do that as I have limited space too. I am waiting for local supplier to get tomato and cucumber plants in as I feel it a waste to grow from seed as I only have one plant of each so I buy them ready grown and pot them up.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 13 Mar 2011 11:25

You always do useful things lol

All the veggies get grown in pots, and tatties in a bag were tried last year, with mixed results. Mind you, we were away and PC didn't water the tatties...along with the one courgette plant!!!!

Sorry to hear that H is unwell LG but pleased that she is home now.

I tried potatoes in sacks last year but found them difficult to handle when the stems were feet high!!

I would normally buy plug plants, but as the seeds were bought for me, I felt I had to use them! Drives me potty thinnng them out, but hey ho!! I will give some to my neighbour when they have grown big enough.

Bought some seed potatoes last year that were already sprouting so they went straight in the sacks. I don't profess to know a lot about them, other than there are different varieties to plant at different times! Not a lot of help to you DET!!

The rain has stopped and the sun has come out, although I don't know for how long! Might try and weed one of the borders!

Don't send it down here Maz!!! It turned really nice this afternoon and we have another good forecast for tomorrow.

Didn't get any gardening done though!! I went strolling through the cemetery again and came back exhausted and empty handed!! It is far too big for me to search it all unless I undertake it regularly and methodically. A neighbour from my childhood was buried there two weeks ago and I couldn't find her grave either. My hips gave in and I had to come home!

Old age >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> sigh >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

You said it YG LOL. My knees are giving me hell today, must be the weather LOL.
Does your council have a list of burials you can look at to help ? My local have a book full and also a map of the cemetery plots they are brilliant .

YG Report 13 Mar 2011 19:09

I will have to check out the procedure with them LG. They did help me with my brother's about three years ago, but I think you have to make an appointment now and they search the records. I will have to make a list of who I'm looking for and dates then try to make an appointment when I have some holiday days.

Dear All

Hello

Hope you are well.

Two great football matches over the weekend.

Sorry LaGooner, that your team went out.

Very pleased that Stoke went through as they really deserved too after that handball incident and the mistakes made.

I have been getting more printouts and, guess what, actually filing them in order!!

Cor! An improvement!

And I even did some Housew***!

I am pleased H is home from the hospital and YG, do take things easy with the hips. What a motley crew we are!

And I even did some Housew***!

Take gentle care all
Very best wishes

Evening all.

Elizabeth must have been so traumatised about the H word, she mentioned it twice - lol Only joking!

Dragged OH out for a walk round the block, looking at the different types of houses, nosey B's that we are, before settling down to the rugby on TV.

Talk about a catalogue of incidents -
one little lad (a mascot) had his shorts slip down on him. Bet his mum was pleased he had sparklingly white undies on.
A fox was running round the pitch until the match started
The referee pulled a calf muscle and to be helped off!
The Scotland manager had a face like thunder for most of the time. He looked as if he wanted to go on and have a go at his team.

Final games next Saturday. Not sure I can be 'sociable' for all 3!!
