My Dad did that too Pauline as I used to wreck shoes when I was young. Dragging my feet as brakes on bike and swings and too many numerous other ways. As you probably gathered I was not a girly girl , no better now in later life LOL

Can't recall my dad doing that to mine - probably grew out of them too fast, but he did use to re heel his own shoes and resole with glued on what ever they are called bits. If we suggested that now, our offspring would think we were mad - throw away society - but don't think you can resole trainers! I still get my favourite/most comfortable shoes re heeled.

Poor you - you can never get exactly the same comfort to start with, can you? Do you use your old ones to pop out to the garden? Just had to down grade one pair (not worn for a few years) for that purpose as the 'garden' ones were letting in water lol

I don't own any shoes, it's boots in the winter and sandals in the summer. I get my favourite boots heeled.

I do have an ancient pair of trainers which occasionaly get used for that, but prefer slip one ones - quicker for popping round to the compost heap

Ah yes DET they live on for Garden or painting jobs. I am so messy with a paint can LOL.

I have had a pair of Trainers for about 5 years now. They are Regatta ones and I wear then when I have a lot of walking to do they are sooooooooo comfy. I stepped back when I looked at the price of them in the shop but boy they have been worth every penny. The last pair of boots are bought are awful they seemed comfy at first but now they are tight. That is the problem with my ankles swelling occasionally.

Glad he is getting out and about...and can fit in chauffeur duty for his mum. BM has started to go to the gym to get fit for his snowboarding holiday at the end of Feb (money bags) We may be graced with his presence next week when he collects his snow kit. He's off to practice at the MK snow dome thingy today.

I'm not house proud, and with in effect only 2 of us home all day, the place doesn't get messy (PC tends to stay in her room which is her responsibility).....and OH mucks in with big jobs. At least he isn't wearing a clean business shirt everyday now - hate piles of shirts. lol
