OH thinks he has worked out what was draining my car battery - the CD player thingy. Now he has to work out how to disable it, but to keep the radio working. He is in his element pouring over circuit diagrams. I'm afraid my response when presented with them to look at, was ''Very pretty'' LOL

well here we go teacher training day ,
DET i have been doing one to one for a couple of weeks on home visits ,i have another tomorrow then as its near froggy going up there to tea afterwards ,
my heating is the same as YG but am hoping it will be sorted out for next year ,we are in the last stages of paperwork to get the work done so about easter it should be done roughly
We have had a little snow here its very cold here though our kitchen is freezing the windows are rotten and dont shut properly theappliances a energy efficient so they dont throw out heat at all

Pleased you're a little warmer DET, when our heating broke down last winter we borrowed electric radiators from a friend. They didn't make a big difference but they were better than nothing.

The tale of the CH boiler continues. I phoned the co. which supplied it and made an appointment for Fri am. Decided to see if someone else cold (edit - could, Freudian slip - lol) come out earlier. Booking made for 11 am this morning at £90 ph. OH has hissing fit, but it puts me on my guard. Man turns up in a hired van

" Can you show me your Gas certification card please?"
" Err no, I'm covered by the company one, held back at the office. Didn't they tell you that?"
"No" (I hadn't thought to ask) " I'm sorry, but if you don't have a card, please leave ."

At least we have an engineer from a trusted company coming at the end of the week. Lets's hope it's just a blocked pilot light and that they don't have to order parts for something broken.

DET, I think you were right, they're supposed to show you the card as soon as you open the door. I think each man is supposed to have a card - regardless of who they work for.

I always use the same firm, you can never be too careful with gas.

First day over thank goodness, but wasn't exactly bright eyed and bushy tailed. I had a really disturbed night with my bad foot. I don't know why, but it was like raging toothache and I finished up with about 2 hours sleep. If I nod off over the keyboard will someone please nudge me and shout in my ear!!
