Evening everyone.

Been snowing here again this lunchtime, although it hasn't settled. Much more forecast for the weekend, but it is soooo cold!!

Am off to finish the xmas shopping tomorrow while I have chance!! Think I will stock up on food too and I have found somewhere selling snow shovels, so I am off for one tomorrow before they sell out again!!

Hope you are all keeping warm.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 17 Dec 2010 16:25

do wrap up warm, and make the most of the dry weather. We've had a smidgen on snow..looks like icing sugar, but enough to send one pedestrian flying! Think I'll stay in doors for a few days longer . Back is greatly improved, but it would only take a little slip for it to 'go' again.

A piece of traditional fruit cake for me please DET!!!

I need reviving desperately after a day trudging round Meadowhall. I am absolutley k******ed ! Well my hips, knees and feet are!! Had a lovely lunch though and a good old natter!! Only finished up with three presents, so am going to have to hot foot into town over the weekend to do the rest. At least I have Monday off as well, so have time to recover.

Hope the weather holds out for you YG so you can get the rest of your shopping in.

I need to go out shopping again, I'll go on Tuesday, got a few things in today but I was just getting pushed along with the crowds really.

Right Gels....stand by your windows

Stollen for Maz ...Ping>>>>>>splat
Trad fruit cake for YG...Ping>>>>>>splodge.

That should put hairs on your chest!!!

I've already started the last minute shopping list - OH is getting, um, excited is perhaps not the right word, but!

YG

YG Report 17 Dec 2010 20:07

Oooh thank you for the cake DET. It was scrumptious!!!

No snow here yet Pauline, but the forecast is confusing. On tv tonight they weren't forecasting any over the weekend in our area, and the same on the BBC website, but it has now changed on the website on one part of it, saying heavy snow on Sunday, but on the five day forecast no mention of it!! Your guess is as good as mine!!

Can't get hold of a snow shovel for love or money, except for a portable one to use on the motorway at £14.99! Don't think I'm that desperate!!

Just noticed on BBC that cars are stranded in Canada because of the snow. Wonder how RMS is doing?

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 17 Dec 2010 21:24

Evening all, snowed hard here this morning as I was driving back from town,total whiteout so had to do 25 on a 60 stretch of road it was that bad. It did not settle too much though but we are forecast heavy snow again tomorrow. I hope it doesn't as we are going to try and get the dreaded shopping finished.

Where's my cake I haven't seen any fly this way LOL

RockyMountainShy Report 17 Dec 2010 22:08

I'm ok YG, thats Ontario and Quebec HEH HEH. The other side of the country, 4 days drive from here. Coming up from the States, mean people that they are. LOL

YG

YG Report 17 Dec 2010 22:35

It's good that you are ok there RMS.

I think they have sent it over here as well. Chaos reigns again in the UK!!

LG, bet DET has fallen asleep, but then did you put in a request for the cake you wanted!!!

Off to bed now to rest my weary legs, ready for round two tomorrow!!

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 17 Dec 2010 23:15

Nite nite YG although you are probably away with the fairies by now LOL.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 17 Dec 2010 23:21

That's right LG, you didn't put in an order - lol What type do you fancy then, and I'll send it over.

Twang, twang, twang...that knicker elastic takes a lot of tightening you know!

Sounds nasty, your drive in the whiteout. Glad you made it home safely. PC is out now and coming home late, then early to work before driving down to Surrey. Can't help worrying that she will assume the roads are not icy if she can't see snow.

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 18 Dec 2010 09:10

I didn't put an order in for cake either, but I like stollen, if there's any left.

I think we're getting away with it lightly this time because we don't have any snow (apart from a thin layer on the garden). I probably shouldn't speak too soon because it's forecast for tomorrow.

Our forecast is the same as yours YG, they can't make up their minds about it.

I've got a couple of cousins living in Ontario, they always seem to have really deep snow, makes my 'deep snow' look like a sprinkling of icing sugar.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 18 Dec 2010 11:56

Morning all - Stollen on the way to Pauline. Make sure you catch it! If LG doesn't hurry up, there won't be any left - lol.

Had M in L on the phone - Kent/Sussex borders - she says she can't see across the flat's car park and it's 'coming down in sheets'. Sis in L walked to work but no one else came in to unlock so she had to walk home again. We only had a bit overnight, but its started to snow quite heavily now. Glad we don't *need* to go out. That should read OH doesn't need to go out, lol
