Morning all, looking a bit cloudy ere.

RMS. I have pm'd you I think I got him .

Afternoon - no, I haven't just got up lol! Been at work work this am. Thought it was only for about 2 hours, took the 'stuff' back to the office and got offered a cup of coffee (most unusual). Said no thanks and see you in March and was asked 'What about the ALAN tests then?'. Great confusion!!! lol. Still, it means more money in the kitty and was relatively easy work, so not complaining.

RMS - I'd agree that Eastbourne is in Sussex. I can't see how it could ever have been in Kent - too far away from the boundary. And don't forget that by 1976, Cremation was becoming more common place. Do you have an actual address that you can look up?

Maz - keep a noise/disturbance log. If you can't get them to be more considerate, you may need it in the future.

Are you sure it was 1976?? Is this relevant? The cert might say Eastbourne (Eastburone) but the reg district of Worthing would fit.

Birth Date: 4 Dec 1908
Death Registration Month/Year: 4Q 1975
Registration district: Worthing
Inferred County: West Sussex

Evening all.

DET.That's the one I found and sent details to RMS for. It seems to be the only one that fits with what we know.

The information given, is only as good as the informant gave- lol My father gave the wrong dob for my grandmother!!!

Eastbourne is still a popular retirement place even now, so don't dismiss it. Do you actually *know* he died 1976, or was that when you got the notification??

Can't handle this tonight - been trying to find out where someone who married in Jamaica was born in England. We don't even know *when* he was born !!! These people over the pond (present company accepted) think that because England is a small country, everyone should be easy to find. Arggghhhh...off to lie down in a dark room

evening all ,Ashford is on the Kent, sussex Border I think Maidstone may be the district for registration ,Worthing would be further over ,some of the cemeteries are on line now

RockyMountainShy Report 15 Feb 2011 21:29

No, I was looking for him last year and came across 1976 in Ancestry, I think.

You mean it isn't easy as you are such a small island ???? LOL Well, maybe I am looking in the wrong place but He was living in Kent for at least 30 years, (I believe) so he should be buried/cremented there right??

DET, I don't blame you, have a nice lie down and close your eyes, and have happy thoughts.
