Absolute beginner. Looking for James Tarpey born C 1878. I can find him in 1901 census stating Manchester as place of birth, but i cannot find a birth record anywhere in Lancashire. what do i need to do know? |

It might be as well to start with your g granddad's birth certificate which would confim his parents names. You say you know he was born in 1900 but from both the 1901 & 1911 census he was born in 1901 |
