	A salute to you, brave little soldier I asked about a shingles jab recently, but am undecided about whether to have one. You get shingles, when the chicken pox virus dormant in one's body is reactivated, but I have never had chickenpox even though my sister did as a small child and we shared a bedroom. Our 3 children all had chickenpox back in 1980s and I never caught it and I've been working in school for years, so it's thought that I'm probably immune. Nurse said there was nothing in her guidance for someone in my position, so it was up to me. A damp start, but brightening hopefully.

	Evening all A bits and pieces day for me,doing a variety of indoor jobs and writing and answering e mails and had a pleasant phone chat with my sister Today would have been our grandmother's birthday., Dad's mother. She died at 39 many years before I was born, in fact Dad was only 4 years old and there were 2 siblings younger than him. Her own father died at 33 of typhoid. What a harsh life they must have had It seemed dark extra early this evening, because it was so gloomy. Must look forward as Island says and wait for the shortest day to come round and then we can look ahead to brighter days.
