I will ead the posts later. Just got home.
Had a lovely day out in Bourton on The water. Left here at 0940 and got home at 3.15. Although came home via Norton garden centre to see if they had any 4 foot trees. they didn't but I was able to get bird food as I remembered I was out of it. Must have gone in every shop in Bourton. Lots to see and a few presents bought. Quite busy there but not uncomfortable so. car park was 6.50 for 4 hours. Ann Paid and I bought coffee. The I bought us both a very nice fish and chip lunch, so that paid for her taking me. We both really enjoyed it and the sun shone all day and there was no wind at all.

Good morning ladies
It's a lovely bright day but quite cold. At least that dreadful wind has dropped and now there is just a breeze. We had 2 plants in plastic pots blown over and roll around the garden but we seem to have got away lightly with no other damage.
I am sorry you all seem to have backache and hope the aches and pains go away very soon. I am very impressed with all this present wrapping. I haven't bought a single present yet!! I haven't had the incentive of a deadline this year as we probably won't see family until after Christmas. I might be giving them all vouchers or money this year as it will work out far too expensive to post loads of parcels all round the country. Son may (or may not!) be moving house Christmas week and daughter has her problems this year so I think Christmas may be a bit of a non-event. It will seem very strange if OH and I are on our own. It will be the first time since we were born that we haven't been surrounded by family over Christmas.
My head is still not right so I am not going to spend much time on the computer. Methinks it's time for a cup of coffee and a quiet sit down. Enjoy your trip out AnnG and everyone else enjoy your day.

I got up three times in the night for the bathroom and feel thorougherly dehydrated this morning so I am drinking like crazy. I had a meal for one Lasagne last night and think it could have been that and I had broccoli too.
Still have my back ache it must be too much sitting I think as with the weather being so bad Iv'e not been out much to walk about.
Enjoy your outing Anng.

good morning all. Set the alarm to get up early as being picked up at 0930. Then had to re-set it when it went off an hour early as it was in a drawer when the clocks went back. so dozed for an hour.
Mandy, back still a bit sore. Have two more lots of presents to wrap (each person's presents are in a carrier bad (wrapped). I usually buy several small presents each. Probably inexpensive little useful things for the Grandsons and they get money as well. Seems to go down well.

Evening all,
It's been quite a nice day today so we went out and did a bit of Christmas shopping . Rang up this morning to get some logs delivered this week and they can deliver on Thursday. Dropped the prescriptions into the box at the doctors ,the builders are working and I could see through the windows today looks like there's going to be four new rooms but who's going to use them I don't know, they have taken half the waiting room on one side to build them ,we only have two doctors now ,used to be five or six at one time perhaps we're going to have more nurse practitioners.
Vera I shouldn't think its helped your head with all the trouble trying to get your photo excepted but I see your all sorted now and I hope your head will be better tomorrow.
Ann hope you've heard from the boiler chap today and that he came and sorted your leaky tap for you, I thought it odd that he worked on a Sunday but as the tap was leaky thought he was fitting you in quicker.
Oh Anng you've been busy having a wrapping day ,how's your back now ,I find I get a back ache when I'm wrapping presents, it's all the leaning over . Hope they can patch your roof and stop the water coming in .
Mel I wonder if they are trying to deliver your parcel to somewhere else ,can't be coming with the postman or he would find you OK, must be a parcel company and they don't come down your drive .

I love Bourton on the water and have been there in the past years ago. They used to have a perfumery shop there and I bought a tiny bottle of Lily of the Valley and I still have it. I also like the miniature village with the miniature village in it.
Iv'e been waiting in for a parcel to be delivered. They said it was coming last week twice and I had a message to say an attempt was made and now Iv'e just had another. Have contacted the seller and she's going to look into it. She has also waited 5 days for a parcel to be delivered to her!!
Hope you feel better and more with it tomorrow Vera. Em came today and she had one yesterday too and dos'nt feel completely right today.

Vera yes I remember you saying about the problems with getting your photo accepted etc but pleased that you have succeeded now. I haven’t tried that yet. Sorry you lost a day to a migraine yesterday, they are such a nuisance for you.
I have just wrapped one of the largest lots of presents, gt granddaughter’s only three lots left to wrap now. And the front office looks like Santa’s grotto.
I have had to contact Jake to come and look at my garage flat roof. I have been waiting for rain as I thought some of the brick work looked wet. And, sure enough it has been leaking in one corner.they are coming on Thursday.
Tomorrow my friend is taking me to Bourton on the water. She takes a wreath to her Mum’s grave and then we can look round the shops.

Afternoon all
I can't respond to yesterday's posts as, of course, most of them are missing. I expect most of us can remember the days of Estelle and Phil and how smoothly everything ran then. We'll never get back to that now but even so it was good to see a post from Genes and find that we have a Community Manager.
Yesterday wasn't a good day for me as I had a really bad migraine and spent a good part of the day in bed. Today I just feel drained and heavy headed but I'm up and doing again. Beds are changed and 3 loads of washing done, tonight's dinner prepared and a few more Christmas cards written. I had another go at registering for this NHS portal that our local hospital has moved to. This time I sent a photo of my driving licence instead of my passport but I still had to send a video of me saying 4 numbers that were texted to me. I really haven't worked out the purpose of that but I have had an email saying that everything checked out and I am now registered. Just realised ny post where I said about the problems I had registering for this NHS Portal has disappeared so you probably don't know what I am talking about.
Going to stop as print is waving around in front of my eyes. Probably back tomorrow.

I'm saying the same as Vera Anng. <3
Well its been so dark today I think my solar meter is going backwards.
Not done a thing after going to the shop and its been really windy with lashing rain. Even the chickens hav'nt been out today they have just stayed in the house when I went to corn them early. I did throw sme in their house and there was plenty of very wet pellets when I went round so they won't go hungry.
I shall have to get some pics together of the things I have been making and send some.
I have been putting a Tudor feast together and a lot of things for a Tudor still room like meats and sausages and cheeses in cloths and sausages etc and have been enjoying doing that. I have made two plates of fish one a carp and one a salmon both dressed with veg and lemon slices but I am fancying making another Tudor doll but not a posh one perhaps a peasent one.
Thats a good idea to cut off the address I had'nt thought of that and the doctors name would help in ase of a mishap.

I’m sorry AnnG, I must have missed you when I posted. Your news is very sad and I send you and your niece’s family my condolences. Her illness must have been a torment to her but, as Annx says, she will be at peace now and perhaps that will be of some comfort to the family. Sending you love ??

Afternoon All,
It's supposed to be 12 degees here but doesn't feel it with being rainy and so windy. We nipped to the shop early this morning to get a few bits and a paper and were glad to get home again. OH of course has still braved it to go to a match this afternoon about 40 miles away. He was well wrapped up though, but will come in dripping I expect.
How sad AnnG but I totally sympathise having had the same sort of illness and issues with a family member in the past. I dread a similar phone call one day, but sometimes after years of trying you have to step back for your own peace of mind and sanity as well as safety. Medication stops being taken as soon as they feel well and because of side effects they then think the medication is making them ill and leave it off. I spent years visiting Mental Hospitals, even prisons, clearing and redecorating a trashed flat with OH, in a constant worry. They can dress and act strangely in the street and get cruel taunting from people who don't understand the torment they already live with in their heads. It's very sad, but at least your niece is at peace now and her family can draw some comfort from that.
Well the boiler man rang this morning with profuse apologies and is coming tomorrow morning now, so hopefully the tap will be fixed and I can start filling the cupboard again. It's a mixer tap and we have managed to get it in a position where it hardly drips and only gushes everywhere if you don't turn it on really low.
I've never thought to keep a list of my medications with me Mel and it's a great idea, although I have never even heard of the cards that Gwyn mentions. I will make sure I cut the address off mine though. Remember that friend of Jane's who went on a course in London one day and lost her purse with her address in it and when she got home she'd been burgled. Gangs can communicate with each other and know your house could be empty for a while if you are miles away.
Yes, what a horrid day today would have been if you had been visiting family Gwyn. You chose the best time last week.
Yes Mel it will be nice to see more of your makes. I use the chicken tonight in the slow cooker too and freeze some portions for another time. I must admit I don't ever use my grill, but the oven function of the microwave does the same I suppose as it heats from the top
OH has had his X ray appointment come for about 3 weeks time at a better city hospital to park at. It was a walk in service as soon as your doctor referred you when I last went, but obviously not anymore.
I must order some ink for the printer and also finish my food order. I keep hanging on in case I think of something else to add. I used to just add something every time I thought of it, but now here is the bank code to get and add every single time. :-S

Good afternoon all
No snow here but lots of rain and it is very, very blowy. It's really dark as well - lights have been on all day. The weather on the computer says it is 8 degrees but the wind is making it feel like -3. I don't believe that. My phone says it is 8 degrees but feels like 5 which sounds much more likely. I've faffed around with odd jobs all day but don't seem to have achieved very much.
Today, I had an appointment letter from the hospital giving me an appointment in 4 months' time at the eye clinic, but it doesn't actually say what it is for. I am assuming it is for cataract assessment and I will then go on the waiting list to get my bad eye done. What I don't know is if that means I will no longer have to go for appointments every few weeks as I have been doing for the last 2 years. Have I been discharged from that section? No-one has said as much. Doubtless I'll find out in due course.
Do you know I must be dumb. It hadn't occurred to me to have a list of medication with me when I go out. I have a list and a prescription, plus a list of Covid jabs with manufacturer and date, that always come with me if we are away from home. I must remember to put something in my handbag. I have got OH's phone and daughter's programmed into mine under ICE.
Isn't it frustrating when you lose a post Mandy. That's why I do a lot of mine in Word and then copy and paste. It's a shame your Christmas lights switch on has had to be cancelled but I think that's happening in a lot of places this weekend. We usually have a look at our Christmas tree festival but I haven't seen anything about it this year. I'll have to check out the local paper which I now read online. I used to buy it but it seemed to get fewer and fewer pages but go up and up in price. It's not that many years ago it was 90p a copy and was a thick paper, now it's £2 for a thin paper. When I saw a special online deal that meant I could read it for the equivalent of about 50p a week I stopped buying it and took out an online subscription.

I had some sad news this morning. My 54 year old niece passed away yesterday. She was found, apparently by her lodger. She was sadly more or less estranged from the family including her Mum, my sister. She was Schizophrenic but often didn't take her medicine. She lived in London as do two of her daughters and her ex husband. A very sad ending to a wasted life. I have not seen her for about 40 years now although have had some contact with her on occasion. I prefer to remember her as the pretty little girls she was.
sorry re-reading this that 40 should read twenty years.

Afternoon all ,
It was very frosty when I looked out in the night but then the rain came in about six ,it's turning windy now.
Son came this morning they had been to mole valley and got the christmas trees so he's put the tree down near the shed for now to early to out it up in the front but he likes to get them early do there's a good choice .
The lights switch on in the town tomorrow has been cancelled because of ths weather such a shame when things are all organised and it doesn't look like it will be rearranged, the church has a christmas tree festival starting today and the little school and the middle school where Lewis goes have decorated a tree so we thought we'd have a look perhaps on Monday as it's still raining .
I did a whole post yesterday but lost the lot ,I didn't have the heart to do it all again so gave up.
