On the 1901 census Edith (1887 Stratford London is living with parents William (1863) and mother Sarah (1868) in, Hackney London, with siblings, on 1911 Census she is in St Pancras Workhouse parents and siblings still in Hackney..

I cannot find the family on th 1891 Census on Ancestry and wondered if someone could give me details from FMP

I have managed to find several baptisms for the other children all with middle names but not for Edith and unfortunately there are lots of people born with that name.

Edith gave birth to a girl in Hackney in 1912 (and maybe another one) and then disappeared (her parents looked after the child) I am hoping the 1891 Census may give an initial.

Could you name her siblings as the Edith I found born in Stratford 1887 on 1901 census was the daughter of William 1860 and Annie born 1862 Nottingham.
I can't find them 1891 although the above couple married 1883 in Lambeth and had 4 children by then.

Hi everyone,

I just sent a long reply and it seems to have disappeared so trying again - on reflection and with your help I realize I have been looking at the wrong Edith, the family of William and Sarah Ann is OK I know William worked for the railways I was told that Edith had been in a workhouse there are several people of that name in a workhouse so I think I looked and thought I had the right Edith. Mine seems to have been born Edith 1891in Hoxton and the baptism seems to be the correct one, she was probably not born when the 1891 Census was taken.

I need to look again and see where she was in 1911 unfortunately the baptism does not give any middle name although a lot of siblings do seem to have one

Thank you for the information about William Warren and Edith A I think the other 1911 Census seems to fit the picture better, I notice there are a few Edith's on the workhouse records unfortunately there is not enough information to know which is the correct one although one has a date of birth of 1892.

I have been looking at marriages but again there are so many it is difficult to know which one is the correct one.
