I had tried irishgenealogy.ie before my last post - no luck re baptism, at least not if the YOB 1826 is accurate.

There are later baptisms, in Cork region, if he wasn't baptised as a new baby - but not in Queenstown (aka Cobh).

No marriage either.

According to the Cork local studies website parish records for Cork are on
www.irishgenealogy.ie

Have you tried that or rootsireland.ie ?

HOWARD, ELIZABETH mmn CALDBECK
GRO Reference: 1850 J Quarter in WIRRAL UNION Volume 19 Page 403

Isabella Howard, nee Caldbeck, was a widow by 1861, in Harborne, Staffs, and remarried in 1871, to William Hubbard, in Warwickshire.

I don't see her marriage to John Howard, which would have given his father's name.
I don't see his baptism either.
