It's possible because there is a death registered for an Arthur Shallcross the following year......

Thanks PricklyHolly. So 'LIzzie' was most likely from Hannah's first marriage then.

The number of years married may have been guess work as it was written in by the enumerator.

There is not a birth recorded for a Lizzie or Elizabeth Crompton in Bolton.....

However, there is this one..........

SHALLCROSS Elizabeth Bolton 8c 411

Which might be why Abraham didn't fill in the number of years married!

I found two possible births for Abraham Dec 1881 or Jun 1882.

Could I push my luck and ask SKS to see if they can find Abraham, with father James, on the 1891 census.

Thanks for the marriage PricklyHolly. So only married for approx 18 months, not the 4 years they said on the census.

Off to look for lizzie's birth.

Edit: Found marriage on Lancs OPC....Hannah was a widow.
